The PADI Boat Diver Specialty course teaches you the specific skills and procedures needed to dive safely and easily from vessels of all sizes, from small inflatables to large liveaboards. Even if you’ve been on boats before, this course is beneficial as procedures can vary greatly by location and vessel type.
Learn how to make your boat diving experiences smoother and more enjoyable. During two boat dives, you’ll learn and practice:
- Boat Terminology: Get familiar with the language used on dive boats.
- Procedures & Etiquette: Understand the proper way to enter and exit the water, where to stow your gear, and general boat etiquette.
- Boating Safety: Learn how to locate essential safety equipment onboard.
Prerequisites:
- Minimum age: 10 years old
- PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver certification or higher
Equipment: You’ll use your basic scuba equipment. A surface signaling device (like an inflatable signal tube) is highly recommended, and a spare parts kit is always a good idea for boat trips.
Get Credit: The first dive of this PADI Specialty Diver course may count as an Adventure Dive toward your Advanced Open Water Diver certification, and the course counts toward your Master Scuba Diver rating!
